As we all know, WWII has caused much death and suffering towards the innocent Jews. One major cause of this is the holocaust camps. Life in these camps was very strict and rough. During labor, it’s common to see people lying on the ground, motionless, dead out of sheer exhaustion. Only after reading about how torturous their lives was, I finally realized that I am extremely fortunate not to be born during the war. The Jews were so guiltless and did nothing wrong and yet there were captured by the Nazis and brought into these so-called “camps”. I felt quite disgusted on how the Jews were treated, they would wake up at 4 or 5 am to line up outside to get accounted for. This counting would last for at least an hour or more. And if one member was not present or was late, the entire camp would be woken up an hour earlier the next day. After the accounting, the prisoners would be sent into different groups for labor. These labors would last for 12 hours, yes, 12 hours non-stop. Now in the modern world, we only need to go to school for 7 hours and yet we are complaining.
I hope after reading this, you would appreciate and realize how lucky you are.
